What ecologies? How is art building other ecologies? Art of caring or caring through art?
Online conference by Yayo Herrero one of the leading voices of ecofeminism, presenting the lines of work under Care Ecologies cooperative project. Based on her proposals, a dialogue will be opened in relation to the concept of care outlined from the working lines of Care Ecologies project.
Yayo Herrero, anthropologist, agricultural engineer, social educator and one of the leading lights of ecofeminism. Her research career has focused on criticising the capitalist development and production model as a threat to the planet and life, research that she combines with activism and collaboration with various media such as eldiario.es
Care Ecologies is a multi-faceted project, focusing on various aspects of care, and will be based upon a network of partners working in the fields of artistic production and the promotion of contemporary art, fostering a strong relationship between contemporary artistic practices and social space.
PROGRAMME
The interventions will be in English and Spanish, with simultaneous translation from one language to another.

17:15 - 17:30 h. Presentation of the international Creative Europe cooperation project CARE ECOLOGIES by G&A Mamidakis
Presentation of partners and their activities: Idensitat (Barcelona, Spain), G&A Mamidakis (Athens), WHW (Zagreb), State of Concept (Athens), Centre for New Media and Feminist Public Practices (University of Thessaly).
17:30 - 18:15 h. Guest academics talk with Yayo Herrero.
18:15 - 19:00 h. Debate between participants, open to the audience, and wrap-up session.
